For a small extra cost you will visit this great museum. It provides an excellent background to the Paratroopers and Glider Infantrys equipment, weaponry and methods on insertion. This is an unaccompanied stop.
Bocage – Hedgerow Country
A stop to explain why the hedgerows caused such a problem for the Americans fighting in Normandy and the solutions they developed to overcome them.
Utah Beach
Hear about the German defences, the assault by the 4th Infantry Division and their training exercise at Slapton Sands. See the German bunkers and the monuments to the various American units.

We will pause for a 40 minute break at a place where you can purchase lunch. The cost of your lunch is not included in the price of the tour.
Pointe du Hoc
A gun battery, which, if left intact could reek havoc on the invasion forces. Hear about the audacious attack by the men of the 2nd Ranger Battalion. An extremely well preserved area. You can walk amongst the German bunkers and bomb craters, as a result of Allied bombing.
Omaha Beach – Dog Green Sector
Hear about the assault by the men of the 29th Infantry Division, in particular the Bedford Boys from Bedford Virginia. Depicted in the film Saving Private Ryan. See the German bunkers and the monuments to the American units.
Omaha Beach - American Cemetery
Pay your respects to the 9387 Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Day One

La Fiere
Hear about the heroism of the 82nd Airborne Division’s fight to take and hold the small bridge over the Merderet River. Then hear about their attack across the bridge and the causeway to obtain a foothold on the other side. This small battle is considered to be one of America’s fiercest and costliest of WWII and led to the award of a Medal Of Honour. See the monuments and then we will drive across to Cauquigny, to the tiny church, to view the battle from the Germans perspective.

Angoville au Plain
A small village with a 12th Century church, in which two medics from the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, cared for more than 80 casualties whilst the battle raged around them.
Day Two
Omaha Beach - German Strongpoint WN60
At the far eastern end, this is a fantastic point for your first view of Omaha beach. See the original German zig zag trenches and bunkers.
Omaha Beach – German Strongpoint WN62
This is Fox Green Sector of the beach. Hear the stories of two German machine gunners, as the men of the 1st Infantry Division landed in front of them. See the German bunkers and the monuments to the 1st Infantry Division and Special Engineers.

Omaha Beach – German Strongpoint WN65 – Beach Exit 1
The scene of bitter fighting for the 1st Infantry Division. See the German bunker with it’s 50mm gun still inside and the monument to the 2nd Infantry Division, who came ashore on the 7th June.

Grandcamp: Hear about T/Sgt. Frank D. Peregory who single handedly attacked a large German strongpoint on the 8th June. For this action he would be awarded the Medal Of Honour. See the ground over which he attacked.
La Cambe – German Cemetery
The largest of the German cemeteries with over 22,000 graves. We will visit the grave of Michael Wittmann, the German tank ace.

Pegasus Bridge
Receive an overview of the invasion. Hear about the amazing story of the coup de main gliderborne assault by Major John Howard and the men of the Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
For a small extra cost you will visit the Pegasus Bridge museum. I do not accompany guests in the museum.
Ranville Cemetery
Pay your respects to the 2560 men who made the ultimate sacrifice. Out of respect, I do not accompany guests in the cemetery.

Sword Beach
The eastern most landing beach, assaulted by the men of British 3rd Infantry Division.
Gold Beach – Ver sur Mer
Assaulted by the men of British 50th Tyne Tees Division. Hear the truly outstanding story of Company Sergeant Major Stanley Hollis of D Company, 6th Battalion, The Green Howards. The only Victoria Cross awarded for D-Day.
Gold Beach – New British Memorial
This 50 acre site pays tribute to the 22,442 soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice. Although a British monument, the names recorded in chronological order are those from 30 countries.
Gold Beach – Le Hamel – German Strongpoint WN37
Hear the story of the assault made by the 1st Hampshires and 1st Dorsets, British 50th Tyne Tees Division. Including how they faught off the beach, moved inland and assaulted WN37.
Arromanches – Mulberry B
Hear about this truly remarkable piece of British engineering over which was landed more than 2.5 million men, 500,000 vehicles, and 4 million tonnes of supplies. See the fantastic remains.

Tailleville
Hear about the assault made over open ground by the men of the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment and tanks of Fort Gary Horse, on a Chateau being used as a battalion HQs. See the expanse of ground, which had to be covered and hear about what the Germans had prepared for them.
Juno Beach - St. Aubin sur Mer – German Strongpoint WN27
Receive an overview of the invasion and the assault to be made by the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. Hear about the assault made by the men of the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment and tanks of Fort Gary Horse, the personal stories of those who were there and the heroic way they overcame the German defenders.
Juno Beach – Bernieres sur Mer – German Strongpoint WN28
Hear about the assault made by the men of Queen’s Own Rifles Of Canada and tanks of Fort Gary Horse and the personal stories of those who were there. We will take a short walk to Canada House, the train station and the D-Day HQs of Maj. Gen. Keller.
Juno Beach – Courseulles sur Mer - German Strongpoint WN29
This seaside town was assaulted by the men of the Regina Rifles Regiment and tanks of the 1st Hussars. Hear about the fierce fighting, much of it hand to hand. See the famous memorial DD tank adorned with the many Canadian regimental shields.
Juno Beach – Graye sur Mer - German Strongpoint WN31
Assaulted by the men of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and tanks of the 1st Hussars. Hear about the fierce fighting, much of it hand to hand. See the German bunkers and the famous memorial AVRE. For a small extra cost you will visit the Juno Centre. I do not accompany guests in the museum.

Beny sur Mer – Canadian Cemetery
Pay your respects to the 2043 Canadians who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Anisy: A stop at the monument to the Queen’s Own Rifles Of Canada, the only regiment to achieve it’s D-Day objective. Out of respect, I do not accompany guests in the cemetery.
Villons Les Buissons - Hells Corner
Here we pick up the men of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and tanks of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers. On the 7th June their column was to advance towards Carpiquet Airfield. They had no idea what lay in front of them. Hear about the fanatical soldiers of the 12th SS Panzer Division “Hitlerjugend”.
Bloody Buron
Hear about the fierce fighting for this small village and see the Canadian monuments.
Authie
A small village with a huge story. Hear about the German attack, which was both swift and brutal, leading to the executions of Canadian soldiers and civilians. See the monument and the battle-scarred church.
Abbaye d’Ardenne
On the 7th June Standartenführer Kurt “Panzer” Meyer, set up his HQs in this beautiful abbey. Hear about the executions of Canadian POWs and pay your respects in the small memorial garden, where the executions took place.
Rots
Here we pick up the attack to be launched against Bretteville l’Orguilleuse on the 8th June. Kurt Meyer and Max Wünsche would personally lead the attack. We pause to compare some extremely famous photos.
Bretteville l’Orgueilleuse
Hear about the attack of the 8th June and how the men of the Regina Rifles heroically fought it off. Also hear about how one Canadian bravely halted and forced back German tanks in the high street. For this amazing feat, he would be awarded the Military Medal.
Norrey en Bessin
Hear how the attack on the 9th June by German tanks together with supporting mobile infantry, was stopped by Shermans of the 1st Hussars.
Le Mesnil Patry
Hear about the ill-fated attack on the 11th June, by the men of the Queen’s Own Rifles and tanks of the 1st Hussars. This attack is often referred to as Canada’s “Charge Of The Light Brigade”. Pay your respects at the monument to those who died.
